Drug Delivery Faculty Starter Grant

About this program

The PhRMA Foundation offers a one-year, $100,000 Faculty Starter Grant to support therapeutically relevant drug delivery research in areas such as pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics, pharmaceutical technology, biotechnology, and biomedical engineering. Projects must define a therapeutic payload and target tissue, address dosing and PK/PD feasibility, and include translational validation for computational or AI-based approaches. Eligible applicants are full-time, promotion-eligible, research-intensive faculty at PhD-granting accredited U.S. universities whose faculty appointments began on or after January 1, 2025, and whose terminal degrees were conferred on or after January 1, 2017. Applicants must be eligible for independent funding, have at least three first-author publications, and generally lack substantial external research support; letters of intent are due April 15, 2026, with full applications by invitation due August 26, 2026.
