About this program

The International Bowel Ultrasound Group (IBUS) and European Crohn’s and Colitis Organization (ECCO) offer the 2026 ECCO-IBUS Research Grant, providing up to €40,000 for clinical research on the utility of intestinal ultrasound in inflammatory bowel disease. Proposals will be evaluated for scientific merit, feasibility, and significance, with submissions accepted from March 1 through October 31, 2026. Applicants must be IBUS and ECCO members, work in a clinical unit experienced in inflammatory bowel disease and intestinal ultrasound, and have routine access to an ultrasound machine. Applications must include a current CV, a protocol of no more than five pages, a budget, and proof of ethics approval submission; applicants and institutions are subject to restrictions based on recent grant awards.
