Elizabeth W. Jones Award for Excellence in Education

About this program

The Genetics Society of America offers the Elizabeth W. Jones Award for Excellence in Education to recognize individuals or teams with significant, sustained contributions to genetics education from K–12 through graduate and professional levels. Contributions may include distinguished teaching or mentoring, innovative curricula or educational tools, national leadership, and public outreach. Nominees need not be GSA members, although members receive priority, and nominations may recognize individuals or teams of any size; submissions must include a cover letter, NIH-style biosketch, lived-experience statement, and responses to the selection questionnaire. Nominations are due October 1, 2026, and each nomination remains active for three award cycles.
