Embrace Pet Insurance Scholarship

About this program

Embrace Pet Insurance and the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) offer five $5,000 scholarships to support veterinary students pursuing careers in shelter medicine. The scholarship supports Embrace’s mission to improve the welfare of homeless pets by developing future shelter-medicine professionals. Applicants must be U.S.-based third- or fourth-year veterinary students in good standing at an AVMA Council on Education-accredited school and demonstrate intent to work in shelter medicine after graduation. Applications are accepted September 1–30, 2026, with awards distributed during the fall 2026 semester.
