Emerging Scholars Program — two-year, full-time fellowship

About this program

Mercatus Center at George Mason University offers the Emerging Scholars Program, a full‑time, two‑year fellowship based in Arlington, VA that funds rising public intellectuals to pursue innovative, ideas‑driven research and public‑facing projects advancing classical‑liberal principles. Fellows receive immersion in Mercatus’s intellectual community, mentorship, tailored training in communications and policy analysis, weekly collaborative activities, and support to complete and publish an influential research project. Eligible applicants are early‑career or “emerging” scholars with a substantive project aligned with classical‑liberal ideas and must be able to commit to a full‑time, two‑year in‑person residency in Arlington.
