About this program
The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and Research Ireland jointly fund collaborative UK–Republic of Ireland research and technology development projects across EPSRC’s remit (including chemistry, engineering, ICT, materials, mathematical sciences and physics). Applicants submit a single joint proposal to EPSRC under the Standard Research Grants process (the previous EOI stage is no longer required); successful UK teams are funded by EPSRC and ROI teams by Research Ireland, with projects supported for up to five years and applications accepted on a rolling basis. Eligible applicants are collaborative teams led by researchers from the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland who must follow the EPSRC standard application format and consult guidance for any ROI-specific requirements; queries can be directed to international@epsrc.ac.uk or partnerships@researchireland.ie.
