About this program
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) offers the Ernest E. Howard Award annually to recognize a member who has made a significant contribution to advancing structural engineering through research, planning, design, construction, written work, notable performance, or specific actions. The award includes a gold-plated medal and an honorarium determined annually by ASCE. Nominees must be ASCE members in good standing and are evaluated based on demonstrated contributions to structural engineering. Nominations are due November 1 and must include a signed cover letter, the nominee’s CV or biographical information, and two or three recommendation letters.
