EST Translation Prize (EUR 2,000)

About this program

The European Society for Translation Studies offers the biannual EST Translation Prize of EUR 2,000 to support the translation, editing, and/or publication of a book or a group of articles in any sub-field of Translation Studies (including interpreting and localization); deadline 1 October 2026. The prize may be awarded to an individual translator, a group of translators, an academic publisher, or a journal, and translations may be between any languages provided the work is unpublished at the time of awarding (six weeks after the deadline). Applicants must be EST members at the time of application and must email a two-page project explanation addressing impact, feasibility (timeline and estimated cost breakdown) and quality assurance, CV(s) of translator(s), the text to be translated, and any publisher agreements or expressions of interest to Isabelle Robert (isabelle.robert@uantwerpen.be). Proposals are evaluated on potential impact for international Translation Studies (including minority/majority language communities), feasibility and translator experience; payment is made after a publisher accepts at least one sample chapter and awarded publications must acknowledge EST support.
