EST Translation Prize (EUR 2,000)

About this program

The European Society for Translation Studies awards the biannual EST Translation Prize of EUR 2,000 to support translation, editing, and/or publication of a book or group of articles in Translation Studies (including interpreting and localization); payment is released after a publisher accepts at least one sample chapter. Applicants must be EST members at the time of application and may be individual translators, teams, or an academic publisher/journal; eligible translations may be from any language into any language but must not have been published prior to the prize being awarded (six weeks after the application deadline). Applications (deadline 1 Oct 2026) must be emailed to Isabelle Robert and include a two‑page project explanation addressing impact, feasibility and quality assurance (with timeline and cost breakdown), CV(s) of translator(s), the text to be translated, and any publisher agreements; proposals are evaluated on potential impact on international Translation Studies, feasibility, and the translators’ pertinent experience.
