About this program
The Council for European Studies offers the 2026 European Studies Book Award to recognize an outstanding first book in any area of European Studies. The winner will receive recognition at the International Conference of Europeanists, a conference registration fee waiver, one year of free CES membership, and promotion through CES publications and its website. Eligible books must be first books published in English (including translations) between January 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026, and may not be reprints or re-editions. Authors must be CES members or hold full-time appointments at CES-member institutions; nominations from publishers, authors, or colleagues are due November 1, 2026, with a PDF or e-copy required.
