Excellence in Science Education & Outreach Award

About this program

The Kentucky Academy of Science’s Excellence in Science Education & Outreach Award recognizes KAS members or member groups whose innovative activities have increased public engagement, participation, and sustainability of science in Kentucky. Awardees receive recognition, an invitation to speak at the subsequent annual KAS meeting, publication opportunities, and— for individuals—lifetime Academy membership. Nominees must be KAS members with at least three years of substantial public outreach through activities such as lectures, demonstrations, exhibits, or media appearances; self-nominations are not permitted. Nominations, due September 30 at 11:59 p.m., must include a justification letter and three recommendations from a supervisor, colleague, and participating community member or teacher.
