About this program

IRP’s annual Extramural Research Funding Program provides grants up to $50,000 to support research on human services for projects that can be completed within 24 months. Calls are typically released in late November or early December and use a two-stage selection process with letters of interest due in early January and full proposals due in mid‑March (see the specific call for exact dates). Principal investigators must hold a doctorate or the highest degree appropriate to their discipline at the time of application; individuals not affiliated with a university and foreign entities are ineligible, and University of Wisconsin–Madison faculty and postdoctoral fellows may not apply.
