Family Medicine Cares Resident Service Award

About this program

The AAFP Foundation offers up to two annual $16,500 Family Medicine Cares Resident Service Awards to support 12-month projects addressing health disparities and improving care for underserved communities. Funding includes $10,000 for the resident’s project, $5,000 for the partnering clinic or health care facility, a $500 residency program stipend, and $1,000 for travel to present results at AAFP’s FUTURE conference. Applicants must be first- or second-year Family Medicine residents and AAFP members, partnering with a health care organization on a project with lasting community benefit. Applications are due September 30 and require a budget, residency director, clinic director, and mentor support letters, as well as interim and final reporting.
