FARS Best Dissertation Award

About this program

The Financial Accounting and Reporting Section of the American Accounting Association offers an annual Best Dissertation Award recognizing outstanding junior scholars’ dissertations in financial accounting and reporting, with a $1,500 cash prize and engraved plaques for the recipient and dissertation chair. Applicants must be members of the FARS Section and have defended their dissertation within two years before the September 15 annual deadline. Submissions must include a dissertation summary of no more than seven pages, a two-page advisor or committee chair letter confirming defense and graduation dates, and the complete dissertation, submitted by the dissertation chair via email.
