Fellowships in Hellenic Studies 2027-28

About this program

The Center for Hellenic Studies offers residential postdoctoral fellowships for the 2027–28 academic year to support high-quality research on ancient Greek civilization and related interdisciplinary Hellenic studies. Fellowships provide a stipend of up to $25,000 for a 16-week term or $52,500 for the full academic year, along with housing, subsidized health insurance, and research and travel support. Applicants must hold a PhD in Classics or a related field, defended before July 1, 2026, and must propose a clearly defined project demonstrating scholarly merit and the need for CHS support. Applications are due November 2, 2026, with three references due November 9, 2026; fellows must reside at CHS and work full time on their projects.
