Ferris Olson Family Foundation for Ocean Stewardship Grants (2026 application for 2027 funding)

About this program

The Ferris Olson Family Foundation for Ocean Stewardship (FOFFOS), a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation, provides one-year grants for action-oriented projects—established or pilot—that promote ocean and coastal conservation, ecosystem restoration/protection, community stewardship, advocacy, and marine animal rescue/rehabilitation; purely educational activities are not eligible. Grants are made only to IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) organizations, typical requests have ranged from under $10,000 to $50,000, and stewardship work abroad is permitted with appropriate local permission. Funds may not be used for lobbying, solely for travel, administrative/fundraising/general-purpose expenses, and indirect cost rates may not exceed 15%; projects run Jan 1–Dec 31 and require a final report within three months after the funding period.
