Franco Carillon Composition Contest

About this program

The Guild of Carillonneurs in North America (GCNA) invites composers to submit original solo carillon compositions for the biennial Franco Carillon Composition Contest, which seeks high-quality, innovative additions to the carillon repertoire. Awards include US$2,000 for first prize, US$1,000 for second prize, and possible US$150 performance awards, with premieres at the 2027 GCNA Congress and publication opportunities. The contest is open to all applicants except Franco Committee members and the first- and second-prize winners of the 2025 contest; entries must be unpublished, unperformed, original works playable on a qualifying carillon, and only one submission is permitted. Anonymized scores and AI-use declarations must be emailed by November 1, 2026; there is no entry fee, and compositions generated wholly or substantially by AI are ineligible.
