Frontiers Planet Prize

About this program

The Frontiers Planet Prize, represented in the United States by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, is a global competition recognizing transformational scientific solutions to planetary crises. Three international champions will each receive USD $1 million to scale their research. U.S. universities and research institutions that have not previously participated must register as National Nominating Bodies by September 15, 2026; registered institutions may submit up to three nominations by October 30, 2026, each including the official application and a peer-reviewed article. Nominations must address eligible research advancing healthy lives on a healthy planet and will undergo national and international review.
