Fulbright Scholar-In-Residence Program

About this program

The Fulbright Scholar‑in‑Residence Program, administered by the Institute of International Education under the Fulbright Program, places scholars from outside the United States at U.S. institutions for a semester or full academic year to teach, assist with curriculum development, guest lecture, develop study‑abroad/exchange partnerships, and engage campus and local communities to strengthen internationalization. Host institutions are encouraged to propose topics across all academic fields and to mobilize community partners for public programming and grassroots engagement. Eligible applicants are U.S. institutions of higher education—including community colleges and Minority‑Serving Institutions—that commit to actively involving the visiting scholar in teaching, curriculum development, outreach, and partnership‑building for the specified term.
