Fund for Homeless Women

About this program

Community Foundation for Monterey County’s Fund for Homeless Women provides grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofits and public agencies serving homeless women on the Monterey Peninsula to support emergency assistance and program development. Awards include small emergency assistance grants up to $5,000 (shelter, transportation, personal care) and larger grants of $10,000–$50,000 for innovative or expansion initiatives such as emergency/temporary shelter, permanent housing, day programs, or case management. Eligible applicants must be nonprofits or public agencies serving homeless women on the Monterey Peninsula; only one application per organization is considered, though fiscal sponsors may submit multiple applications for different sponsored groups plus one for their own organization. Applications are submitted via CFMC’s Online Grants Manager by 11:59 PM on October 2, 2026; larger grants should include plans to monitor and measure success and all grantees must submit a final report one year after the award.
