FWGBD Annual Research Grant Award 2026

About this program

The Foundation for Women & Girls with Blood Disorders (FWGBD) offers one $20,000, one-year supplemental research grant to support hypothesis-generating basic, clinical, implementation, or translational research addressing blood disorders affecting women and girls. The award is intended to advance multidisciplinary research and improve diagnosis, management, and outcomes across the lifespan. Applicants must be current fellows or U.S.-based junior faculty MDs/DOs in hematology, obstetrics/gynecology, women’s reproductive health, or a related specialty, generally within seven years of training, and must have an experienced research mentor, active cross-disciplinary collaboration, and approved or pending IRB approval. Applications are due by September 25, 2026; prior FWGBD award recipients are ineligible.
