FWGBD Promoting XXcellence in Women’s Health: Special Research Award—Bleeding Disorders

About this program

The Foundation for Women & Girls with Blood Disorders (FWGBD) offers two one-year, $20,000 Special Research Grant Awards to support cross-disciplinary basic, clinical, implementation, or translational research on bleeding disorders affecting women and girls. Funding is intended for non-salary research expenses, including statistical, database, technician, laboratory, and other approved project support, with applications due September 25, 2026. Eligible applicants are MDs or DOs who are current fellows or junior faculty within seven years of completing relevant training in hematology or women’s reproductive health specialties, and who have an experienced primary research mentor and an active collaborator from the complementary discipline. Applicants must have approved or pending IRB approval, meet the required hematology–women’s reproductive health collaboration, and not have previously received an FWGBD bleeding-disorders award.
