General Neurology Award

About this program

Sponsored by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), the General Neurology Award recognizes a general neurologist for exemplary community service, clinical performance, and innovation in practice or other health care endeavors. The recipient receives a $1,000 prize, honorary plaque, and recognition at the AAN Annual Meeting and in member publications; applications are due October 20, 2026. Applicants or nominees must meet AAN’s definition of a general neurologist, demonstrating broad practice across neurologic diseases without restriction to a subspecialty. Applications require a completed form addressing service, clinical care, and innovation, along with a current curriculum vitae; preference is given to those who have not received an AAN award within the past five years.
