Genetics Society of America Early Career Medal

About this program

The Genetics Society of America offers the Early Career Medal to recognize an individual member’s impactful contributions to genetics, scientific community advancement, and training or education early in their independent career. Nominations are due October 1, 2026, and each nomination remains active for three award cycles. Nominees must be GSA members who have held an independent position for no more than seven years by the deadline; materials include a nomination letter, NIH-style biosketch, lived-experience statement, and responses addressing scientific, community, and educational contributions.
