About this program

The Genetics Society of America Medal honors a GSA member at mid-career for ingenious and highly meaningful contributions to modern genetics, including scientific, community, mentoring, and educational achievements. Nominations are due October 1, 2026, and may be submitted by a nominator or the nominee; each nomination remains active for three award cycles. Nominees must be GSA members who have held an independent position for at least 7 and no more than 15 years by the deadline, with materials including a biosketch, lived-experience statement, cover letter, and responses describing their impact.
