Genetics Society of America Mentorship Award

About this program

The Genetics Society of America (GSA) Mentorship Award honors a GSA member who has demonstrated exceptional mentorship of geneticists at any career stage; nominations are due October 1, 2026. The award alternates between faculty or principal investigators and non-faculty mentors, including graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and scientific staff. Only GSA members may nominate, and nominees must be GSA members by the time of selection; self-nominations are encouraged. Nominations require a cover letter, NIH-style biosketch, lived-experience statement, mentoring record, and responses from three mentees.
