About this program
The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), jointly with the Mathematical Optimization Society, awards the George B. Dantzig Prize every three years for original research making a major impact on mathematical optimization through its originality, breadth, and depth. The 2027 prize includes a monetary award, certificate, and reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses for the award ceremony at the 2027 International Symposium on Mathematical Programming. Nominees may be any members of the scientific community whose publicly available contributions address any aspect of mathematical optimization; nominations must include a recommendation letter and the candidate’s CV. The nomination deadline is October 15, 2026.
