About this program
The South Atlantic Modern Language Association (SAMLA) offers the George Mills Harper Graduate Student Travel Fund Award, supported by member donations, to provide travel funding for graduate students attending its annual conference. Applications open July 16, 2026, and close September 30, 2026, through SAMLA’s Global Application for Awards. Applicants must present at the current conference, establish or renew SAMLA membership, and register for the conference; award recipients must attend to receive funding. Applications are welcome in all languages but must include English translations of accompanying materials.
