George W. Beadle Award

The Genetics Society of America’s George W. Beadle Award honors individuals or teams whose exemplary genetics careers have significantly advanced the research community through leadership, development or dissemination of tools and model systems, public engagement, or other service; it is an honorary award rather than a funding opportunity. Nominations are due October 1, 2026, and may remain active for three award cycles. Nominees need not be GSA members, though membership is given priority, and nominations must include a cover letter, NIH-style biosketch, lived-experience statement, and responses documenting leadership impact and contributions to diversity and inclusion.
