About this program
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), through its Engineering Mechanics Institute, awards the George W. Housner Structural Control & Monitoring Medal annually to one individual for outstanding research contributions to structural control and health monitoring of civil infrastructure. The award consists of a medal presented at an EMI, ASCE, or co-sponsored mechanics conference. Nominees may be from any institution, and ASCE membership is not required; however, no individual may receive the medal more than once. Nominations are due November 1 and must include a signed cover letter, the nominee’s CV or biographical information, and two or three recommendation letters.
