The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) administers the Goddard Astronautics Award, its highest honor recognizing notable achievements in the field of astronautics; the award is presented annually (generally at AIAA ASCEND) in commemoration of Robert H. Goddard. Nominations are accepted online beginning 10 July, with a nomination deadline of 1 October and endorsement letters due by 1 November. Eligible nominees may be an individual or a team (team nominations must list all contributors and may designate at most two representatives to formally accept the award), and nominations should demonstrate demonstrable, significant contributions to astronautics consistent with the award’s historic selection criteria.
