GPCAH 2025-26 Academic Pilot Grant Program

About this program

Great Plains Center for Agricultural Health (GPCAH) at the University of Iowa is offering pilot project grants up to $30,000 to support innovative academic research that prevents agricultural injury and illness. Funding is limited to University of Iowa investigators (faculty, staff, students), with emphasis on new investigators and trainees. Projects must target injury/illness prevention in Midwestern agricultural communities, be completable within 9 months and finished by September 29, 2026, and include explicit plans for future funding naming the target agency/organization and grant mechanism. Proposals should align with GPCAH/NIOSH agriculture-sector priorities—topics such as mental health, chemical safety, equipment/tool safety, and prevention of slips, trips, and falls are especially encouraged—and community outreach/education grants are not being solicited for 2025–26; basic and applied academic research will be reviewed for scientific merit.
