Harriet and Leon Pomerance Fellowship

About this program

The Archaeological Institute of America offers the Harriet and Leon Pomerance Fellowship, providing up to $6,000 for an individual scholarly project in Aegean Bronze Age archaeology conducted from July 1 through June 30, with preference for research requiring travel to the Mediterranean. Applicants must be U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents, or actively pursuing an advanced degree at a North American college or university, and must hold current AIA Graduate or Professional membership. Previous Pomerance Fellows are ineligible; all application materials, including references and transcripts, are due by November 1, 2026, and recipients must submit a report on stipend use.
