Harriet and Leon Pomerance Fellowship

About this program

The Archaeological Institute of America’s Harriet and Leon Pomerance Fellowship awards up to $6,000 to support an individual scholarly project in Aegean Bronze Age archaeology to be conducted between July 1 of the award year and the following June 30, with preference for projects requiring travel to the Mediterranean; funds may not be used for institutional overhead. Applicants must be U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents, or actively pursuing an advanced degree at a North American college or university, and must hold current AIA Graduate or Professional membership; previous Pomerance Fellows are ineligible. Complete applications (including references and transcripts) are due November 1 (recipients announced by March 1), and awardees must submit a report on stipend use to the AIA Fellowships Committee.
