Harry Levin Prize (ACLA) — Outstanding First Book in Comparative Literature

About this program

The American Comparative Literature Association (ACLA) awards the Harry Levin Prize for an outstanding first single‑author book in comparative literature (including literary or cultural theory or history) published in 2025 or 2026, with the winner announced at the 2027 ACLA annual meeting. The prize covers complimentary meeting registration and travel support (up to $550 roundtrip economy airfare and up to two nights’ hotel at the conference rate). Eligible works are the author’s first book‑length single‑author publication; co‑authored or edited volumes are ineligible (those may be submitted for the Wellek Prize), and no book previously nominated for the Levin or Wellek may be re‑nominated. Publishers or authors may nominate via the acla.org form by August 31, 2026, submitting a PDF named AuthorName_Book_Title.pdf; inquiries may be sent to info@acla.org but email submissions are not accepted.
