About this program
The Governor's Office of Emergency Services offers the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program to support plans and projects aimed at mitigating the impact of natural disasters in California. This program provides funding for eligible subapplicants, including state agencies, local governments, special districts, and federally recognized tribes, to implement strategies that reduce future disaster risks. To be considered, applicants must have a FEMA-approved and locally adopted Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) or apply for funding to develop one.
