Health Care Equity Research Award

About this program

The American Academy of Neurology sponsors the Health Care Equity Research Award to recognize neurologists and neuroscientists advancing health equity and addressing disparities in neurological disease through research, service, or leadership. Awards include complimentary registration for the 2027 AAN Annual Meeting, two $2,000 early-career awards, and one $5,000 mid- or senior-career award; recipients must present their research at the meeting. Eligible applicants may be AAN members or nonmembers and must be actively engaged in relevant work; early-career applicants must be within 10 years of completing training, while mid- or senior-career applicants must be beyond 10 years, and industry employees are ineligible. Applications or nominations are due October 20, 2026, and require an application form, CV, 1,000-word statement, support letter, and optional publications appendix.
