HEARD Center Small Grants for Big Ideas

About this program

The Neurocritical Care Society’s HEARD (Henderson Equity And Research on Disparities) Center offers up to three Small Grants for Big Ideas awards of up to $10,000 each for hypothesis-driven research addressing disparities and advancing equity, care, and outcomes in neurocritical illness. Projects must be completed within two years, with no indirect costs, and applications are due September 1, 2026. Eligible applicants are clinicians or scientists who have completed clinical or postdoctoral training, including multidisciplinary and international investigators; trainees may participate only with a senior principal investigator or mentor. Proposals must be submitted as a single six-page PDF and should demonstrate innovation, feasibility, multidisciplinary collaboration, and relevance to underrepresented or underserved populations.
