About this program

The American Antiquarian Society, with support from the Hearst Foundations, offers fellowships for creative and performing artists, writers, filmmakers, journalists, and others conducting historical research for imaginative works on pre-twentieth-century American history, literature, and culture. Applicants are automatically considered for both the Hearst Foundations Fellowship and the Robert and Charlotte Baron Fellowship. Eligible applicants must submit an online application including a statement, current résumé, work samples, and reviews by October 5, 2026.
