About this program
The Florida Ornithological Society offers the Helen G. and Allan D. Cruickshank Education Award to support projects that expand knowledge of Florida’s native birds in primary and secondary education, with awards of up to $3,000. Funding may support teachers’ development or enhancement of ornithology instruction, continuing education, or public education initiatives. Applicants are generally Florida primary or secondary teachers and must submit a two-page project description, activity schedule, budget, and curriculum vitae in a single PDF. Proposals are due September 1 annually and should be emailed to the committee chair with “CRUICKSHANK PROPOSAL” in the subject line.
