Hidden Collections Grant

About this program

The Communal Studies Association offers up to $5,000 every other year, beginning in 2024, to established institutions or organized groups for preserving “hidden collections” documenting communal groups through microfilming or digital imaging. Digitized materials must be made publicly available on a website; microfilm projects require a copy to be provided to the Association, and all projects must acknowledge its support. Eligible applicants must be historic sites, libraries, or organized groups with a federal or state tax identification number, and no matching funds are required. Applications are submitted online by September 1 and must include project significance, methodology, timeline, budget, preservation plans, and details about online access and outreach.
