Historic Preservation Tax Credit (HPTC)

About this program

The Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development offers the Historic Preservation Tax Credit (HPTC) to qualified taxpayers rehabilitating eligible historic structures for use as income-producing properties. The tax credit supports restoration projects with rehabilitation plans approved by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC). Applicants must use a qualified historic structure and submit a plan consistent with the U.S. Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.
