The Genetics Society of America offers the Hugo Bellen and Catherine Tasnier Drosophila Neurogenetics Lecture to recognize outstanding early-career achievements in Drosophila genetics applied to neuroscience. The award includes a $5,000 cash prize and coverage of registration and travel expenses to present at the Annual Drosophila Research Conference. Nominees must be GSA members and either postdoctoral fellows or assistant professors conducting impactful research in areas such as neural development, behavior, neurophysiology, disease-related genes, or neurogenetics technologies. Nominations, including a research summary, biosketch, lived-experience statement, questionnaire, and two recommendation letters, are due October 22, 2026; self-nominations are permitted.
