Hurricane Response Marine Debris Removal Fund

About this program

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), in partnership with NOAA’s Marine Debris Program, provides grants to assess, remove and dispose of marine debris generated by severe storms. Funding prioritizes immediate cleanup projects that reduce risks to coastal communities, marine habitats and Endangered Species Act-listed species. Eligible projects should address storm-related debris in impacted coastal counties and demonstrate a clear threat to navigation, public safety, wildlife or coastal resources; proposals for the 2027 Request for Proposals are due October 21, 2026.
