IET Future Talent Awards (Launch and Boost Scholarships)

About this program

The IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) offers the Future Talent Awards—two competitive scholarships (Launch and Boost) for students, apprentices and degree apprentices on IET‑accredited UK undergraduate courses, providing £1,500 per year (Launch: up to four years; Boost: up to two years), free IET student membership, professional development and networking benefits; applications open 13 March 2026 and close 11 September 2026, with payments made each January. Applicants must have been UK residents for at least three years and be studying or about to start an IET‑accredited undergraduate degree, degree apprenticeship or apprenticeship; MSc and international‑only students are ineligible. The Launch Scholarship is for applicants in any year who have faced financial or personal challenges, while the Boost Scholarship is for students in the final year of a BEng or the last two years of an MEng/degree apprenticeship who achieved 70%+ at the end of their 2nd or 3rd year. Boost applicants must submit a tutor reference via the online platform, applicants may apply for only one scholarship, and queries can be sent to futuretalent@theiet.org.
