About this program

The Immune Deficiency Foundation offers one-year Research Grant Program awards of $25,000–$50,000 for non-commercial, patient-centered research addressing the treatment, diagnosis, disease management, or broader understanding of primary immunodeficiency. The highest-scoring application also receives the Michael Blaese Research Grant Award. U.S.-based academic researchers in medicine and science, including M.D., D.O., Ph.D., and R.N. investigators, may apply; students, residents, and fellows are eligible with an appropriate mentor and supporting documentation. Proposals must be patient-oriented and may not use animal models; applications are due September 14, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET, with no institutional overhead supported.
