About this program

The Immune Deficiency Foundation offers one-year Research Grant Program awards of $25,000–$50,000 for noncommercial, patient-centered research addressing the treatment, diagnosis, health, or management of primary immunodeficiency (PI). The highest-scored application also receives the Michael Blaese Research Grant Award. U.S.-based academic researchers in medicine and science, including M.D., D.O., Ph.D., and R.N. investigators, are eligible; students and trainees may apply with an appropriate mentor’s support, biosketch, and letter. Proposals must not use animal models, cannot include institutional overhead, and are limited to one submission per applicant; applications are due September 14, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
