About this program

The Immune Deficiency Foundation offers one-year Research Grants of $25,000–$50,000 for non-commercial, patient-centered research addressing the treatment, diagnosis, health, or management of primary immunodeficiency (PI); the highest-scored application also receives the Michael Blaese Research Grant Award. Eligible applicants are U.S.-based academic researchers in medicine or science, including M.D., D.O., Ph.D., and R.N. investigators, as well as students and trainees supported by an appropriate mentor. Proposals must focus on human or patient-oriented PI research; animal-model studies, institutional overhead, and more than one submission per applicant are not permitted, and applications are due September 14, 2026.
