Implementation Research Grant

About this program

The American Occupational Therapy Foundation, with support from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, offers Implementation Research Grants to advance adoption of evidence-based occupational therapy practices in clinical and community settings. Awards provide up to $50,000 for one-year projects or $100,000 for two-year projects addressing implementation strategies, barriers, integration, sustainability, translation, or outcome measurement. Principal investigators must hold a doctoral degree, be occupational therapy practitioners or researchers, and have institutional research support; preference is given to early-career researchers and applicants from underrepresented or underresourced backgrounds. Projects must use implementation science methodology, include measurable outcomes and clinical practice collaboration, and demonstrate potential impact on occupational therapy practice; letters of intent are due in September 2026.
