IMS Fund Supporting International Meetings in Probability, Statistics and Allied Areas (SIMPSAA)

About this program

The Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS) offers the SIMPSAA fund to support workshops, meetings, and schools in probability, statistics, data science, and allied areas held in under-resourced regions worldwide. Up to USD 30,000 is available annually for one-time events or workshop series spanning two to three years, including support for eligible participant travel and accommodation.

Individuals may apply for compelling programs scheduled within 6–15 months of the application deadline, with submissions due February 28 or August 31 each year. Applicants must explain the event’s impact, how IMS will be promoted and membership encouraged, and submit a post-activity financial and outcomes report; travel and accommodation support generally requires recipients to be IMS members.
